Street Artist Junkhouse has long proceeded representing the organic monsterism life on canvas as well as on the street.
Junkhouse lived in an environment where industrialization and constructions by humans have reached the limit throughout hers life, deep within the scent of concrete and co-existing with the other inorganic, stiff objects. It could be observed that it was easier for her to observe, perceive and produce hers organic images because she had been living in such an environment.

The city continuously changes, whether naturally or artificially, evolve and mutate. Therefore, because the images and environment that she survives move and evolve, hers forms mix and combine with each other, transform into geometic figures and forms, and finally, proliferate after reincarnation into the new formes metamorphoses.
And these are very natural results and products of the artist’s observations on the massive, organism-like transformation of a large city.
Therefore, the emergence of these mutants isn’t entirely at the artist’s intentions; rather, they are produced naturally through hers conscience.

Junkhouse is an artist who emphasizes importance on the harmony of form and color. First, a drawing boasting compositions of harmonized forms is produced, and then it is ‘assembled’ together as a whole through adjustment of applied color. The forms are applied colors and vice versa, thus a final work is created.

In this Beautiful Mutants exhibition, we are able to see portrait of beautiful mutants in the unique forms and color applications by the artist.

스트릿 아티스트 정크하우스는 그동안  몬스터들의 유기적인 몬스터리즘 라이프를 캔버스와 스트릿을 오가며 보여 주는 작업을 진행하여 왔다.
 그는 자연적인 것들 보다는 이미 인간들에 의해 만들어진 산업물, 건축물, 등등의 딱딱한 사물들을 이 함께 공존하고 있는  콘크리트 냄새 나는 도시의 환경에서 자라고 영향을 받아왔다. 어쩌면 인간들에 의해 만들어진 형체들이기 때문에 그 곳에서 더욱 더 인간적이고 생명력이 담겨져 있는 이미지들을 포착하는게 쉽게 인지가 되었는지도 모른다.

도시는 끊임없이 자연적으로, 인공적으로 그 모습을 탈바꿈하고 진화하는 변화과정을 겪고 있다. 그런 이유로 그가 영향을 받는 대상과 환경이 움직이고 진화하기 때문에 그의 이미지들은 또 다시 서로 섞이고 혼합되면서 변형되며 기하학적형태를 거쳐 새로운 변성 형태들로 재생성되고 증식되어 가고 있다.
이는 마치 도시 자체가 하나의 거대한 유기체로서 변화되어 가는 모습을 지켜보면서 받은 자연스러운 영향의 결과이고 과정이다.
때문에 이러한 변성체들의 등장은 의도적이지 않으며 매우 자연스럽게 그의 무의식을 통하여 그려져 나오게 된다.

정크하우스는 그림을 그리는 데 있어서 형태와 색채의 조화를 가장 중요시 한다. 조화로운 비율의 형태들로 드로잉이 그려지고 나면 그 다음으로는 색채들을 통하여 전체 그림의 비율과 조화를 맞춘다.  형태들은 아름다운 색채를 입고, 색채들은 형태를 갖추게 됨으로써 하나의 작품이 탄생한다.

“아름다운 변종들”의 전시에서는 정크하우스  특유의 형태와 색채의 조합으로 몸단장을 갖춘 아름다운 변종들의  초상을 소개된다.
